is for Memory Makers
Every year of my formal teaching career, I have documented the school teaching/learning environment of my current class. The first year of my educational leadership Master's program, I even produced the school's yearbook (a part of my school-wide project 1 experience) . The purpose of documenting each year that I teach is to provide memories and evidence of what my students have learned. The Memory Book seeks to help them retain a good portion of it, hopefully, for years to come. Click on the cover image to see the initial page of the Memory Book, which is my reflection of the year. This year's theme was a passport through the 6th grade. As an administrator, I plan to encourage teachers to help students retain information learned during a given year by using some type of memory resource. The visual memory concept is supported by the research of Eric Jensen, - a former teacher and educational leader- among others.
