Understanding Group Process and
thePsychology of Organizations
This graduate course is designed to provide a theoretical basis for understanding the school as a social system. Skills in group and organizational dynamics, including covert patterns that impede effectively carrying out the educational mission will be analyzed in the context of case studies. Candidates will experientially reflect on and examine the cohort’s own group processes to come to a deeper understand of organizational dynamics. The cohort will discuss, critique and apply models of organizational change. In addition, class members will be encouraged to share their experience in the organizations in which they practice to apply these theories to explain and solve current dilemmas.
